Experience

Erik has over a decade of experience as trademark counsel for the boutique Austin intellectual property law firms Botkin Chiarello Calaf, Wittliff Cutter, and DiNovo Price Ellwanger and Hardy. He has overseen litigation e-discovery services for BCC and Wittliff Cutter. Erik has also served as lead associate-level counsel in arbitration for BCC. In his trademark practice, Erik has successfully secured trademark registrations for large and small companies, non-profits, individuals, restaurants, musicians, artists, professional companies, and entrepreneurs. Prior to returning to graduate school to study law, Erik worked as a Senior Systems Analyst at the University of Texas Libraires designing and implementing metadata management software and middleware.He is a longtime member of Austin’s music community who has appeared in the Richard Linklater films Waking Life and A Scanner Darkly with Tosca Tango Orchestra and Graham Reynolds respectively, and in Stephen Soderberg’s The Underneath with Gals Panic.
